lion’s statue is one of the few remnants of the reign of the kings of ancient Iran, in this area of the country. During Median and Achaemenian are making statues were so important, they believed statues would protect the city from disasters and calamities . In 931 when Dylmyan conquered Hamedan they wanted to move the statue but they broke its feet . This damaged statue was on the ground for years but in 1949 it was repaired and kept on a stone bench in a square in Hamedan.
